Rebecca and Chris ~ L'Auberge de Sedona, Sedona, Arizona

Rebecca and Chris were married on August 21st ... a weekday wedding at the cottage side lawn in L'Auberge de Sedona! Rebecca worked as a wedding coordinator for many years so she wanted a very elegant but stress free intimate wedding. They were joined by their wonderful families and their closest friends who were all so fantastic! We really enjoyed them all! It was a HOT day in August but everyone had a great time and it was a beautiful ceremony and day of celebration!

Their stylish and delicious cake was created by Andrea Blaut of Sedona Cake Couture. The beautiful floral arrangements by Amy and Vicki at Bliss Floral. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Laura Lane. We loved her sand ceremony that included red Sedona soil as the base for the sand and then included all the family members pouring in sand. What a great idea.

Enjoy the images! You can see their whole slideshow here.

Rebecca's Mom actually made this beautiful dress!

Tonja and Ed ~ L'Auberge de Sedona, Sedona, Arizona

Tonja and Ed were married at one of our favorite wedding venues in Sedona, L'Auberge de Sedona. There are 4 areas you can choose to be married in, and they chose the popular Hillside that has a fabulous view of the red rocks. It was a slightly overcast day and PERFECT for pictures!

I smiled all the way through the editing of their images remembering how much fun they were! Thanks for letting us document your beautiful day Tonja and Ed! You two are fabulous!

Colored cakes are "in" right now and their beautiful cake was created by Andrea Blaut of Sedona Cake Couture. We have to give Andrea a pat on the back for being so innovative and starting fabulous trends. The colorful floral arrangements were produced by Amy and Vicki at Bliss Floral. And the music entertainment was provided by Bobby at Sedona Sounds. We have to say that Bobby is one of our favorite DJ's... our clients always rave about him.

Enjoy the images! You can see their whole slideshow here.

We can't help taking a few images of babies and kids at weddings! They are always soooo cute!

In Arizona where there is sometimes wind, instead of the lighting candles, there is a sand ceremony which also reflects the union of the bride and groom.

Shari and Howard ~ L'Auberge de Sedona, Sedona, Arizona

Shari and Howard were married August 18th, 2007, at L'Auberge along Oak Creek Canyon in the heart of Sedona. Family from both sides flew in from Chicago in true destination wedding style.

Shari, Howard, and their 4 children, stood together under a beautiful Aspen-wood framed chuppah draped with white sheers; the floor a carpet of rose petals. Luckily we had brought our video light, because when the sun had set it was nearly pitch black!

After the ceremony the proud and newly married husband and wife danced the night away with their guests to a fantastic live band called The Groove Merchants, who were doing exactly what their name indicates; merchandising their amazing groove! It was a wedding day nothing short of a fairy tale.

The beautiful and tasty cakes were made by none other than Andrea Blaut of Sedona Cake Couture. The creative floral and decor were crafted by Jim and Ken at Events By Showstoppers.

Brides.com and WPJA ~ Award-Winning Photos

It looks like we placed two images in another contest. This contest was put on by Brides.com in combination with the Wedding Photojournalist Association, aka, the WPJA.

Click here to see the contest gateway page on Brides.com.

Here's what the premise of the contest was per the Brides.com website:

" Inspired by the pictures our editors have been seeing—images that remind us how poignant and precious (and funny!) every wedding is—Brides asked members of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) to enter their work in our first-ever photo contest.

Pictures were divided up into 10 categories, and after poring over hundreds of submissions, we chose the work in each category that best captured the magic and memories of this day of days.

From hipster groomsmen to precious little attendants, these photographers were able to capture the unique feeling of these couple's wedding days with an especially artistic eye."

All images copyright 2007, Sedona Bride / Katrina Wallace Photography, LLC.

The WPJA also has it featured on their site. Click here to see the contest gateway page on the WPJA.

All images copyright 2007, Sedona Bride / Katrina Wallace Photography, LLC.

Here's what the WPJA judges had to say about our winning images:

All images copyright 2007, Sedona Bride / Katrina Wallace Photography, LLC.

" JUDGES COMMENTS: Images should make us feel something. A wedding presents an entire day of emotions. But a sensitive photographer sees the world in a unique way – shooting images we can feel and taste. Look at this image long enough and you can feel her hand (or his) curled through your own fingers. That is the “magic” of great photography.

The photographer has chosen to concentrate on the details. They have played off of the bouquet to accentuate the flowers in the bride's dress yet still captured a sweet moment between the bride and groom."

All images copyright 2007, Sedona Bride / Katrina Wallace Photography, LLC.

" JUDGES COMMENTS: There is no doubt this scene has been repeated thousands of times, yet, this is the first I've ever seen it. These are the images we know exist, the moments that pass by in a glance, but until a sensitive photographer sees and records it, it is almost as though they have never happened."

A big congratulations to the WPJA and Brides.com for their collaboration, which calls attention to outstanding wedding photography worldwide!

The Buchineko Keychain Camera ~ Superheadz Ina Babylon, Japan

While Katrina was in Japan shooting a wedding in Kobe ( images coming soon!), she had an opportunity to make a few purchases at one of the cool little boutique stores you find around any Japanese mall or shopping area.

Check out this cool little keychain camera she found, complete with a cute little role of 110 Agfa film. Pronounced " boo-chee-neh-koh", referring to a cat, there is a cute little graphic of a kitty on it. Neko is the Japanese word for cat..

As I uncovered the origin of this little gem, which measures a mere 1"x1"x1", I came across the Tokyo Lomography people, which must have some connection ( I can't read the Japanese language garble on my computer screen to be able to tell...) to the Superheadz Ina Babylon folks.

We'll post some images from this camera when we get a chance to use it at a wedding or other... BTW, is there a bride and groom out there that would let us photograph their entire wedding with one of these?? It would be really cool!!
