Kristen and Tommy ~ Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona, Arizona

Kristen and Tommy were married on September 30th; a beautiful sunny day. Friends and family flew in from Texas to witness the union. Kristen planned the wedding with a great color theme ... green, brown and ivory. We think she did a great job and we were so happy to be able to document their beautiful wedding day!

The beautiful floral arrangements were from Events by Showstoppers. Jim, Ken, and their team do a fabulous job with floral and event decor. Their up-lighting can add beautifully to the ambiance in a room. You'll see some of their beautiful lanterns in the images below. We can't stress enough how additional lighting can add such a great dimension to reception images.

The cake is from Sedona Sweet Arts. And event coordination was provided by Karen Lynn of Sedona Wedding Planner.

Kristen's friend Regina was not a bridesmaid, but she was the biggest help all day and was awesome! She herself is getting married to her honey and the funny thing is that they are hiring a photographer from a studio we know in Texas! She said that she was really inspired to hire a photojournalist after she saw our albums on a trip out to Sedona with Kristen. Boy did she find the most awesome photojournalist team in Texas; our friends at F8 Studio ! Huy, Gary, and Kim are amazing photojournalists.

Kate and Joerg ~ Amara Resort and Spa Sedona, Arizona

Kate and Joerg were married August 3rd, 2007, at Amara. We're a *tad* behind on our blogging...

Kate and Joerg tied the knot on a semi-cool and rainy afternoon in Sedona. It was really a beautiful day, considering it's mostly just HOT during the summer! And the rain had the courtesy to wait until the *moment* the ceremony ended before pooring out of the sky and soaking dry Sedona!

Joerg's family came in from Germany, and Kate's from all over the States, but many from Texas. Joerg is a top-gun in the German Air Force, having logged many many hours in fighter jets. Kate and Joerg and their two adorable children are now living in Germany.

Kate and Joerg, thanks so much for having us there for your day! Both your families are so sweet, and we truly enjoyed getting to know you all. Hopefully we'll see you in Europe this next year!

Lauren and Alex ~ Amara Resort and Spa Sedona, Arizona

Lauren and Alex were married on July 21, 2007, at Amara Resort. It was an absolutely beautiful summer day and NOT hot... for you all who know Arizona, you know July can be really hot. Well it was a fabulous day and a wonderful wedding with a wonderful couple. Like so many of our clients Lauren and Alex were just so sweet and were up for anything.

Andrew fell very sick the morning of the wedding, and so our friend Jefferson Todd came in to shoot on a moments notice. Thanks so much to JT for coming to shoot and for the beautiful images you took! We'll be sure to post our favorite image from him below.

Lauren and Alex met through tennis, thus the fun tennis theme we have running through the images.

The flowers and event decor were through one of our favorite florists, Showstoppers Floral. They are so creative and we're always blown away by their work!

The cake was, of course, made by super-talented cake artist Andrea Blaut at Sedona Cake Couture.

Everything flowed oh-so-very-smoothly because of the wonderful wedding coordination of Karen at Sedona Wedding Planner.

And last but not least, Bobby at Sedona Sounds made the dancing and reception a ton of fun!

Leslie and Rob ~ Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona, Arizona

Leslie and Rob were married on June 2nd, 2007. Friends came from far and near to honor them on their big day! Leslie and Rob are the most down to earth friendly couple. We really loved working with them through their engagement session to the last shot of the night at the wedding. Thanks for being so amazing to work with!

We made a fabulous engagement book for them from the engagement session images. It was a huge success and the guests loved signing the unusual guest book.

The beautiful floral work is by Bliss Floral and the cake of course is by Andrea at Sedona Cake Couture and the event was smoothly coordinated by Julie Wong of Event Concierge.

This is actually the second bouquet toss... the first time the little girl caught it and she ended up tearing up saying she didn't want to get married! Too cute! So she and Leslie tossed the bouquet the second time together.



Perfect timing! At the end of the night we snagged a shot of the engagement book that all the guests signed during the reception.

Sara and Drew - Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona, Arizona

Did you ever see the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off ? We basically had the fantastic opportunity to shoot Ferris' wedding last month! Only kidding - partly! Sara and Drew have so much soul and character, together, that if you don't have enough they might be able to lend you some. What a hilarious couple!

Before the ceremony they were sending each other gushy declarations of love via text messaging on their cell phones. During the ceremony, right as the pastor indicated it was time to kiss the bride, Drew's best man and brother leaned in to the rescue with anAltoid breath mint. And the icing on the cake had to be the reception, where Sara and Drew and their best 100 friends danced crazy into the night. It was at this time where Drew mimed a rider on a motorcycle and had Sara climb on back for a ride around the dance floor.

All I can say is that we have been blessed again to be able to work with such a fun couple. Sara and Drew, thank you so much for having us at your wedding and sharing your day with us!

Catherine and Troy - Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona, Arizona

Catherine and Troy held their destination wedding at the beautiful Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona. The weather forecast called for scattered showers and cloudy skies, and so preparations were being made for the ceremony to be held in a boring little room indoors. Our last minute suggestion to move the ceremony to the outside location with incredible red rock views led to the awesome images we got that day, and to tear-jerking love that Catherine and Troy shared with us all! Their families, who nearly all came in from Ohio, also found a moment during dinner to celebrate Troy's father's birthday. Catherine and Troy also found a moment to steal-away and have a kiss in an elevator. They certainly treasure their own families as much as they treasure each other, and the emotion and warm friendship they radiate is addictive! Thanks, Catherine and Troy, for choosing us to share the day with you and your loved ones! You are truly special people!

Sarah and Brian - Amara Resort, Sedona, Arizona

Sarah and Brian are quite a unique couple! They are very reserved and warm, and absolutely melt in each other's eyes. It's almost as if it doesn't matter what's going on around them, their love oozes and is contagious. Don't we have the best job in the world?? We get to *photograph* this!

We had gone a short distance into red-rock country to shoot them together. When we got back to the dinner, which we were nearly late for, Sarah realized she might have left her *family heirloom handkerchief* out on the rocks! Sarah didn't want us to go back and search for it, but I insisted. Luckily it was on the seat in the car so I didn't even have to go far... That's how sweet Sarah is, she didn't want to inconvenience me. :)

For those of you that are curious.... the floral is from Amy at Bliss Extraordinary and the cake is from Sedona Cake Couture. I love that cake!

Batya and Jerry had their wedding in Sedona in July at beautiful Amara Creekside Resort. We almost didn't accept their wedding because we had just had our baby Kaiden in June but we are so glad we did! Batya and Jerry were so sweet and had a beautiful wedding! We were very honored to be a part of such a beautiful wedding on an amazing summer day!

Batya had a white theme and had everyone wear white to the wedding. Not only was it a great idea for a summer wedding in Sedona but it also looked great!

Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the day. The fabulous floral and decor were from Showstoppers Floral and the elegant cake is by Sedona Cake Couture.
