Duende is a Spanish ( of Spain) word that has many translations, but most affectionately means a certain kind of magic. James A. Michener goes into a nearly 10 page soliloquy in his book, Iberia, explaining the mystique behind the uniquely Spanish word, where he cites myriad uses and contexts for it. It is never a bad word.
Jennifer and Alfonso exemplify this word nicely. They have so much fun together and look at each other in a special way that indicates to everyone around them just how in love they are.
Jennifer's parents helping her with the veil... the mantilla veil is so classic and beautiful.
Tlaquepaque, a place like no other in Arizona... it's romantic, rustic and takes you to a different world.
Jennifer's fabulous bouquet by Bliss Extraordinary Floral ... the handle was created custom for Jennifer and was quite remarkable. The delicate color palette delivered through the floral, stationary, and decor was so elegant.
Jennifer looking spectacular...
The intimate chapel at Tlaquepaque ... the light danced through a corner window as the music from the gold harp floated through the air.
Just married!!
Beauty is definitely in the details... coordination was flawlessly performed by Laura Lane of Sacred Unions ... she went as far as having the table linens pressed (we often see fold lines at weddings on the rental linens) and even had the parking posts concealed in matching fabric.
Isn't this back drop gorgeous? The pretty cake by Donna at Sedona Sweet Arts matched the color theme perfectly.
Some of our favorite images from short a portrait session we did before the reception began...
Tlaquepaque gets magical after the sun sets.. receptions on the Calle Independencia are among our favorite.
Pure joy...
Jennifer and Alfonso... thank you so very much for letting us be a part of your gorgeous wedding day!! We greatly enjoyed you and your families. You are very blessed.

Joy is an editor with In Style Weddings magazine ... you can only imagine how thrilled we were that she asked *us* to document her wedding!! The best part is that Joy and Josh are some of the sweetest people you'll meet. We really enjoyed them both!
A special hats-off to Karen Lynn of Sedona Wedding Planner, for orchestrating such a beautiful day. Her attention to detail, and ' the little things,' (from making sure the drinks and appetizers were served on her antique silver trays) to the big things (the complicated timeline) is very admirable.
Here is a list of the vendors and venues that helped make the day extra special...
Be sure to view their wedding day love story in the slideshow (opens in a new window) or click on the image below to start their slideshow on this page... you would not want to miss all the laughs, moments and fun. :) Enjoy!
Andrew covering the guys while... Katrina was with the girls...
Love this shot...
We love to get the in between moments during formal portraits... Katrina's shot of the girls getting the baby to come over for the formal shot while Andrew captured a candid of the guys checking the time.
El Portal is a gorgeous property and a perfect backdrop for preparation pictures...
Joy arriving in the Bently....
Right before their first kiss as husband and wife! Check out their slideshow to see the rest... we captured a ton of great shots of the newlyweds walking down the aisle!
Playing with depth at Tlaquepaque. There are so many beautiful backdrops and opportunities to make great images there... it's a photographers playground!
What would a wedding in Sedona be without pictures out in the red rocks? This spot is near Tlaquepaque... can you tell they like each other?
After sunset the sky turns different shades of blue... you can see how it intensifies as it gets darker into the evening. The shot on the left is the last light of the day... and the one on the right is about a half hour after dark.
The first dance, sleeping kids, great food from Cucina Rustica, and dancing fun... all halmarks of a great reception! This is one of our favorite reception venues to shoot! It's gorgeous and boy did this crowd love to dance!
Love, love, love this ending shot of the night... thanks so much Josh and Joy! We're so happy for you both!

Kristin and Gino came in from Ontario, Canada, to tie the knot in style at the breathtaking Tlaquepaque Village right on Oak Creek in Sedona. The beautiful little chapel is perfect for a Sedona wedding elopement!
Karen Lynn, of Sedona Wedding Planner arranged all the details for Kristin and Gino, and performed the short and sweet ceremony. Events by Showstoppers put together the most colorful and amazing bouquet and boutaineere for Kristin and Gino.
Kristin and Gino, it was very nice to get to know you! We wish you all the best in years to come :) Congratulations on your beautiful wedding in Sedona.
Here are a few of my ( Andrew's) favorites from the shoot. Enjoy!
