Hello! I’m Katrina Wallace, a local Sedona elopement and wedding photographer. I can’t list Sedona elopement locations without Bell Rock weddings as a great option for couples to look into. There are many trails with amazing ceremony locations perfect for elopements. The trails are easy and fairly flat, making it a popular location for couples that don’t want to hike.
Bell Rock Weddings
The red rock formation that makes Bell Rock is a popular outdoor ceremony location with sweeping panoramic views north towards Chapel of the Holy Cross and the Three Sisters rock formation. It is located in Village of Oak Creek south of Sedona. There are several access points with different sets of views … working with a local wedding photographer who can help guide you to the best locations on the trail is super helpful.
Pros:
- Easy access Sedona wedding location perfect for couples that want a short and easy walk to amazing views.
- Lots of space on the trail for an elopement style wedding with or without a small handful of guests.
- Multiple trails available easily to go to more than one location for more amazing red rock views and more privacy away from hikers.
- An inexpensive alternative to a Sedona resort wedding.
Cons:
- Easy to get to for couples also means also easy for other visitors to Sedona, the parking lot can fill up quickly.
- Weekends traffic makes accessing parking very difficult.
- No decor is allowed on forest service land. If you plan on having a micro wedding with floral decor and chairs for guests, you’ll need to be at a private venue.
Sedona Bride Wedding Insider Tip for Bell Rock Weddings
The lighting can be tricky so be sure to check with us for the best time of day to have your ceremony on the Bell Rock. It is quite a popular location for tourists to visit and while there is plenty of space to have a private ceremony the parking lot can fill up quickly with hikers and mountain bikers. Be sure to get there early for parking even on a weekday and if you are planning on having several guests try to car pool or hire a shuttle to transport you from your hotel to Bell Rock.
Many couples choose to plan an intimate wedding reception at surrounding restaurants after their wedding on Bell Rock. Cucina Rustica is a popular option and very close to Bell Rock. Micro-weddings at Bell Rock
If you plan on having more than 10-12 guests, I’d highly recommend having hired transportation. This trail has become one of the most popular trails and the parking lot fills up very quickly especially closer to sunset hours. If you plan on having multiple cars with guests, at the very least carpool as much as possible. There are shuttle services that you can hire to pick up guests at your airbnb or hotel, making it stress-free for both you and your guests.
Once your guests have arrived, it’s easy to find a beautiful location for the ceremony without tourists in the photos. Working with a local photographer, helps as we are able to guide you to the best ceremony locations on the trail.
